India’s Biggest Online Design & Coding Championship is Back – Bigger & Better!

Design Championship is India’s Biggest Online Design & Coding Championship and first major platform for kids to showcase their creativity and talent. Since its inception in 2014, it has been a great motivator for kids of our country to become creators and innovators; more than 85,000 participants across India have built 5200+ Games, 1200+ Movies, 2500+ Graphics, 800+ Apps and 1100+ 3D Designs.

School students aged 6-16 years can participate in this online competition to showcase their talents in 7 categories - App Design, Game Design, Graphic Design, 3D Design, Coding, Web Design and Movie Making. The Regional Level Competition will be conducted online from 18th Aug till 1st Sep 2021; Regions include Region 1 (North & East), Region 2 (South 1), Region 3 (South 2), and Region 4 (West). The Regional Winners will compete for the National Championship in Oct 2021.


App Design


Category levels:
Middle: 11 to 13 years
Senior: 14 to 16 years
Team Size: Individual Participant or Max. 5 Members


Competition Structure:

To participate, kids must register themselves as Individual / Team on the Design Championship website. Post registration; they’ll receive the confirmation mail along with the Unique ID and Password. Once the theme is announced on the website & social media (21 days prior to the event date), participants will work on their app design project and create a mobile app using available app creation tools based on the theme issued for the category and submit it before the mentioned deadline.

Then, the jury round will take place on an online video conferencing platform wherein they will interact with the kids, give their expert feedback on their projects, and later, announce the Regional Level Winners and Runner Ups category-level wise.

Only the Regional Level Winners will compete for the National Level Championship. Based on the new theme issued for the category, kids will submit their final project before the mentioned deadline; they will also get a mentor to work on their final project. After the jury round, the Winners and Runner Ups category-level wise for the National Level Championship will be announced.


Game Design


Category levels:
Beginner: 6 to 7 years
Junior: 8 to 10 years
Middle: 11 to 13 years
Senior: 14 to 16 years
Team Size: Individual Participant or Max. 5 Members


Competition Structure:

To participate, kids must register themselves as Individual / Team on the Design Championship website. Post registration, they’ll receive the confirmation mail along with the Unique ID and Password. Once the theme is announced on the website & social media (21 days prior to the event date), participants will work on their game design project and develop a computer-based game using any platform/software based on the theme issued for the category and submit it along with GDD (Game Design Document) & 30 sec video of the game play before the mentioned deadline.

Then, the jury round will take place on an online video conferencing platform wherein they will interact with the kids, give their expert feedback on their projects, and later, announce the Regional Level Winners and Runner Ups category-level wise.

Only the Regional Level Winners will compete for the National Level Championship. Based on the new theme issued for the category, kids will submit their final project before the mentioned deadline; they will also get a mentor to work on their final project. After the jury round, the Winners and Runner Ups category-level wise for the National Level Championship will be announced.


Graphic Design


Category levels:
Beginner: 6 to 7 years
Junior: 8 to 10 years
Middle: 11 to 13 years
Senior: 14 to 16 years
Team Size: Individual Participant or Max. 5 Members


Competition Structure:

To participate, kids must register themselves as Individual / Team on the Design Championship website. Post registration, they’ll receive the confirmation mail along with the Unique ID and Password. Once the theme is announced on the website & social media (21 days prior to the event date), participants will work on their graphic design project and design a graphic based on the theme issued for the category and submit it in JPEG or PDF format; file size - up to 50 MB before the mentioned deadline.

Then, the jury round will take place on an online video conferencing platform wherein they will interact with the kids, give their expert feedback on their projects, and later, announce the Regional Level Winners and Runner Ups category-level wise.

Only the Regional Level Winners will compete for the National Level Championship. Based on the new theme issued for the category, kids will submit their final project before the mentioned deadline; they will also get a mentor to work on their final project. After the jury round, the Winners and Runner Ups category-level wise for the National Level Championship will be announced.


3D Design


Category levels:
Middle: 11 to 13 years
Senior: 14 to 16 years
Team Size: Individual Participant or Max. 5 Members


Competition Structure:

To participate, kids must register themselves as Individual / Team on the Design Championship website. Post registration, they’ll receive the confirmation mail along with the Unique ID and Password. Once the theme (a problem statement brief) is announced on the website & social media (21 days prior to the event date), participants will work on their 3D design project based on the theme issued for the category and submit a presentation of their Design Proposal with a detailed process of design from start to end, in PDF format only, before the mentioned deadline.

Then, the jury round will take place on an online video conferencing platform wherein they will interact with the kids, give their expert feedback on their projects, and later, announce the Regional Level Winners and Runner Ups category-level wise.

Only the Regional Level Winners will compete for the National Level Championship. Based on the new theme issued for the category, kids will submit their final project before the mentioned deadline; they will also get a mentor to work on their final project. After the jury round, the Winners and Runner Ups category-level wise for the National Level Championship will be announced.


Coding


Category levels:
Beginner: 6 to 7 years
Junior: 8 to 10 years
Middle: 11 to 13 years
Senior: 14 to 16 years
Team Size: Individual Participant or Max. 5 Members


Competition Structure:

To participate, kids must register themselves as Individual / Team on the Design Championship website. Post registration, they’ll receive the confirmation mail along with the Unique ID and Password. Once the theme (a problem statement brief) is announced on the website & social media (21 days prior to the event date), participants will work on their coding project based on the theme issued for the category and submit a presentation of their solution to the problem statement with detailed logical steps and flowchart, in PDF format, only before the mentioned deadline.

Then, the jury round will take place on an online video conferencing platform wherein they will interact with the kids, give their expert feedback on their projects, and later, announce the Regional Level Winners and Runner Ups category-level wise.

Only the Regional Level Winners will compete for the National Level Championship. Based on the new theme issued for the category, kids will submit their final project before the mentioned deadline; they will also get a mentor to work on their final project. After the jury round, the Winners and Runner Ups category-level wise for the National Level Championship will be announced.


Web Design


Category levels:
Middle: 11 to 13 years

Then, the jury round will take place on an online video conferencing platform wherein they will interact with the kids, give their expert feedback on their projects, and later, announce the Regional Level Winners and Runner Ups category-level wise.

Only the Regional Level Winners will compete for the National Level Championship. Based on the new theme issued for the category, kids will submit their final project before the mentioned deadline; they will also get a mentor to work on their final project. After the jury round, the Winners and Runner Ups category-level wise for the National Level Championship will be announced.


Movie Making


Category levels:
Senior: 14 to 16 years
Team Size: Individual Participant or Max. 5 Members


Competition Structure:

To participate, kids must register themselves as Individual / Team on the Design Championship website. Post registration, they’ll receive the confirmation mail along with the Unique ID and Password. Once the theme/genre is announced on the website & social media (21 days prior to the event date), participants will work on their movie making project and make a Short Film based on the theme/genre issued for the category and submit it before the mentioned deadline. Short Film duration: Minimum 1 Minute (60 secs.) Maximum 5 minutes (300 secs). Video Format: H264, MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 preferred.

Then, the jury round will take place on an online video conferencing platform wherein they will interact with the kids, give their expert feedback on their projects, and later, announce the Regional Level Winners and Runner Ups.

Only the Regional Level Winners will compete for the National Level Championship. Based on the new theme issued for the category, kids will submit their final project before the mentioned deadline; they will also get a mentor to work on their final project. After the jury round, the Winner and Runner Up for the National Level Championship will be announced.

For each category and category-level at the Regional Level Competition:
The Winner & Runner Up Teams will get a Trophy and Certificate of Achievement.

For each category at the National Level Championship:

Beginner Level:
Winner – Trophy + Certificate of Achievement
